Since the fall of 2007, the cemetery has received generous grants to assist with heritage tree, gravestone, and the Ellen T. Brown Memorial Chapel restorations from the following:

Mary Alice Arakelian Foundation, Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, the Newburyport Community Preservation Act, the Essex National Heritage Commission, the Mayor Gayden W. Morrill Charitable Foundation and the Newburyport Civic League.

Beth Gerwig and Joe and Gail Santarlasci generously donated to the Ellen T. Brown Memorial Chapel to assist with restoration efforts.

Karen Kelly Alger donated gardens and trees in memory of her friend, Linda Bange Kaufman.
